Volleyball at Marshall is Thriving!

Asia Jota and Dailus Johnson

Marshall’s volleyball team is at the middle of the pack at the moment. Coach Sang Lee and the girls are all hungry to move up in the standings, though!

The players on both Varsity and Junior Varsity describe the team as a family environment. The chemistry the girls have with each other is like that of blood siblings. Sophia Hatum described it as, “a family” with an “unbreakable bond.” Just watching a practice or in coming out to support at a game, it’s clear the energy and enthusiasm the girls carry for one another.

Coach Lee has put together a summer volleyball program at Marshall for girls who wish to strengthen their skills and who want to come out and train! The summer team is a lot of fun & it gets (especially the new girls) excited for the fall season. And you don’t just practice in our new Sports Complex at the school, you also play games against other high schools in our area in mini tournament style. Over the summer the girls got to bond and form friendships as strong as families. A player described it as, “An experience to express your inner competitor and play amongst girls who share the same ideas.”

The Junior Varsity team’s coach, Coach Dani, & our Varsity team’s coach, Coach Lee, are extremely passionate towards the girls and can’t wait for tryouts!

Next school year the team hopes for more athletic and competitive girls to join the Lady Eagles Team! They are looking for girls with personality, energy, and those who are ready to go out onto the court and fight!

So if you’re ready to spike, hit, or set talk to Coach Lee next spring about the summer team!
