The Great Shakeout is a statewide event that is held every year to practice emergency earthquake procedures. California is known to have many earthquakes, and it is very important that we all know what to do in case that happens here at Marshall.

In addition to schools throughout the state of California, many businesses and government offices also participate in the event. The drills all start at the same time.

It is a good thing that we have these practices because you never know what could happen in the future. An major earthquake could hit California any day, so it is very important that we are prepared and ready when an earthquake hits.
