Grease Rehearsal

The award-winning, best-selling musical Grease is coming to Marshall! For those who don’t know, Grease follows the story of a group of teens in the 1950’s, surrounding the on-and-off relationship of two teenagers. The main characters are Danny Zuko (played by Cristian Soto and Sion Robertson) and Sandy Dumbrowski (played by Jeannine Briggs and Anna Mudica).

“It’s an honor playing Danny Zuko,” said Cristian Soto. “I mean I grew up watching the musical and never did I ever think I would one day be performing Greased Lightning or Summer Nights in front of hundreds of people… I’m of course nervous yet excited for this production and can’t wait for you guys to see how hard we worked on it!”

Ms. Sandrews, the drama teacher, and Mr. Gould, the choir teacher, and the school’s local dance teacher are doing everything to make this show possible. But they are not the only ones helping, there is also a tech crew and some parent volunteers. The crew will be working on the stage setup, lighting, special effects, and many other details needed to make the show objectively perfect. Auditions took place on January 10th and 11th to cast the roles. The first rehearsal was on January 16th, and all the performers received their scripts and music sheets.

The drama program is in need of donations, and of course all proceeds will be toward the production of Grease. You can look forward to attending the show on April 5th and 6th at 7 PM. There will be a third day with two showings at 2 PM and the second one at 7 PM. The week after there will be a faculty show where you can see some staff members perform Grease.

The Grease production has a fundraiser to help make sure the show has all the funding they will need. See the link here.
