Eagles, we just had our annual fall sports pep rally and it was a lot of fun. The performances from both cheer teams and both dance teams were amazing! Everybody who was watching was very entertained especially since the games that were played were really comical. To start off the pep rally, ASB prepared the Donut-Eating competition with one competitor from each grade struggling to eat the donut without using their hands. Congratulations to the Juniors for winning the Donut-Eating Competition. Unfortunately, it would be their only win during the pep rally.

The second game would be between the captains of the boy’s varsity football team and the captains of the girl’s varsity volleyball team. The objective of the game was to make a table out of their bodies and see who could last the longest in this position. The Lady Eagle captains were so confident they would win, one of the captains even said, “You guys should be ready for your L.” In the end, after a great amount of time of holding the difficult position, the ladies finally gave in and were defeated by the football team captains who held strong and lasted longer.

Once the games ended, a video of all the captains with inspiring words and messages was shown to the rest of the school. It was greatly put together and promoted all aspects of the fall sports. It included football, volleyball, tennis, marching band, and color guard.

Last but not least, the moment we were all waiting for at every pep rally began, the battle for the SPIRIT KEY! The freshman were called first and it was almost dead silent. Some student said, “Man, is there only two freshman in the whole school, or what?” Next, the sophomores were called and they showed some potential for the years coming but had no chance against the juniors and the superior seniors. The juniors were called next and gave it their best shot, but when it was the seniors turn, they were so loud you could feel the building shaking as they yelled, “SENIORS!”

The pep rally was a great way to kick off the beginning of the school year and we hope to see more of these fun events at our school.
