Every Monday and Wednesday after school in the room behind the auditorium, nine outstanding students meet up to put together a set for Marshall Fundamental’s production of Beauty and the Beast! Those 9 students deal with everything set-wise, from the building flats, to the bridge and the castle.

With Tech Week quickly approaching, the students are facing mounting pressure to get everything done and stage ready for opening night on the 28th. According to an anonymous student on the crew, “Stage tech has definitely had its troubles, but now that the students have been given more initiative, a lot more stuff is getting done. I’ve had a lot of fun working with most of the people in stage tech, and some of us have really outdone ourselves.” In addition to the stage tech crew, there are countless other parents who have dedicated their time to making sure this year’s musical runs smoothly.

With the help of a Marshall parent (my dad), the crew has definitely gotten a lot done. Because of this generous Marshall father, Gaston’s chair, the carts, and the tables have been built to perfection!

We also cannot forget the backstage staff! The production assistants work hard to make sure everything is nothing less than perfection. They make sure that everything backstage goes well.

Make sure these people do not go unappreciated. These parents and the crew are making sure this musical looks as good as it can be. Enjoy the music AND the set pieces! Without the stage tech team, the musical would not be as extraordinary.
