A Bit about Mr. Tornek…

Leslie Hernandez

Mr. Tornek is the AP World History and AP Seminar teacher at Marshall Fundamental. But how did he get to that place where he is today?

After graduating high school, Mr. Tornek attended a variety of colleges, such as PCC where he studied as a History major. Once he was there, he decided he wanted to pursue a teaching career and decided to attend UCLA where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in History. Even though college tuition can be very expensive, Mr. Tornek knew that he had to find a job to earn money. “I had to work in a variety of jobs to pay college so I worked as a gardener, construction worker, furniture mover and even in a freezer at a ham shop!” After graduating from UCLA, he attended Cal State LA where he earned his Masters degree and received his teaching credentials.
